In 1970, a group of women from Puerto Vallarta founded the first civil association for social assistance in the area. The noble goals pursued were primarily community service in all its aspects: social, civic, cultural, and sporting, collaborating with municipal, state, and federal authorities in programs aimed at improving the community's quality of life.
With objectives clearly established in the statutes, modified as time and circumstances require, along with the valuable collaboration of people who trust in our work, numerous achievements have been obtained. These include the construction of the first foster home, the reconstruction and maintenance of the Municipal Cemetery 5 de Diciembre for 14 years, participation in the reconstruction of the Crown of the Temple of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Center for Adolescent Guidance and Rehabilitation, the Center for Comprehensive Women's Care and Training, United against breast cancer, attention to ecology, environment, and visual image, the traditional Rebozo Dance for 32 years, not to mention the ongoing fight for the preservation of our customs, values, and traditions, etc.
Currently, since 2006, our main program is the comprehensive care for children and young people with Cancer (CANICA) from low-income families, which is continuous and permanent thanks to the support of authorities, individuals, and altruistic companies.
